Mis-selling, and Banks …
Featured in TIMES and Which? magazine
In a recent article in the Times, some serious points were made about mis-selling, which we think are worth highlighting. Times and Which magazines are urging consumers not to buy investment products from banks or building societies as more cases of mis-selling come to light.
As thousands of savers with Keydata, the collapsed investment firm whose products were sold through banks and independent financial advisers, wait for news on their losses, consumer groups are urging investors to think carefully before handing over their cash.
Dominic Lindley, of Which?, says: “Many investment products are unnecessarily complex and most people do not understand them. Pushy bank staff working on commission can often give bad advice.”
As evidence mounts that banks, building societies and wealth managers are pushing inappropriate investments on customers, particularly elderly people, Times Money lists ten questions to ask before investing.
